Jack Grealish loses ‘£1m of watches and jewellery’ in burglary while family were home | Football | Sport

Jack Grealish’s Cheshire mansion was reportedly raided by burglars during Manchester City’s win over Everton on Wednesday evening. The winger’s terrified partner and family are believed to have hit a panic button before the thieves made off with around £1million worth of jewellery and watches.

Grealish, who pockets £300,000 a week at Man City, purchased the property for £5.6m last year but only moved in earlier this month. His fiancee, parents, grandmother and siblings were reportedly gathered around the TV watching him play at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

According to The Sun, they alerted authorities after hearing noises and frantic barking from upstairs. Robbers are understood to have made off with an eye-watering £1m loot mainly comprising watches and jewellery.

A police helicopter then scoured the area, with neighbours instructed to stay indoors. Grealish’s sprawling seven-bedroom dwelling boasts a helipad, a wine cellar, 24 acres of land and a full-size football pitch.

The 28-year-old rushed back from Merseyside to reassure his family, and he was pictured on Thursday checking paths around the property, which was broken into despite extensive security measures and perimeter fencing.

One resident told The Sun: “The police arrived at my property and asked if they could enter the land to carry out searches. They went towards Grealish’s land and were shining lights up and down a bridleway.

“They said there was a man on the loose and that we should lock our doors then they drove off. A police helicopter was circling for about 20-30 minutes and shining a red light down but then it flew off.”

Grealish played the full 90 minutes against the Toffees as City came back from a goal down to win 3-1. Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva came up with the goals to bank a precious three points in the Premier League title race.
