FORMER Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona.
The 31-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Nottingham Forest in June.
He briefly trained with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq last year, but was not offered a contract.
Lingard has since been training in Dubai while searching for another club.
And according to Spanish outlet Sport, he recently offered himself to Barcelona.
The former England star is hopeful that a move to the Nou Camp will help reignite his career.
Barcelona are expected to be limited in the January transfer window due to Financial Fair Play.
However, the La Liga champions should be able to afford Lingard’s wages.
Xavi has been forced to deal with several injury issues so far this season, so he is on the hunt for cheap additions.
Lingard joined Nottingham Forest as a free agent in July 2022 after being released by Man Utd.
He was limited to just 20 appearances across all competitions during his only season with the Reds.
Prior to his move to the City Ground, Lingard had spent 20 years with boyhood club United.
