Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Sancho to Dortmund talks CONFIRMED, Ten Hag EXCLUSIVE, United in battle for Brazil wonderkid

Fans spot cheeky Rashford action

Marcus Rashford half-heartedly wheeled away to celebrate after having a shot tipped onto the post against Wigan.

His tame side-footed effort went straight at Wigan goalkeeper Sam Tickle, to Tickle’s horror, however, he fumbled the shot.

It rolled onto the post before rebounding along the line.

Tickle gratefully managed to clutch onto it, but Rashford began celebrating as if the ball had already gone in.

Writing on social media, harsh fans suggested that the 26-year-old may have been trying to dupe officials.

One wrote: “The assistant and referee wave play on, and it remains 1-0 despite Rashford’s fake celebration to attempt to convince the officials.”

Man Utd leading Wigan

Manchester United have one foot in the next round of the FA Cup as they lead Wigan 1-0 at half-time.

Just a reminder they face a trip to Newport or Eastleigh if they overcome the Latics

Erik ten Hag to stay

Erik ten Hag looks set to avoid the sack this season.

That is because Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning a detailed structural review which will likely take up to two months.

Ineos owner Ratcliffe bought 25 per cent of Manchester United on Christmas Eve for £1.3billion and is undergoing the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test.

As part of his takeover, he and right-hand man Sir Dave Brailsford want to do a huge audit of the football side of the club in an attempt to grasp the “performance challenge” on their hands.

And according to the Independent, that could see the Red Devils bring in not just a sporting director – but a director of football as well in a radical move to split the responsibilities across two people.

John Murtough is the current football director but he is at risk while Darren Fletcher is the technical director.

Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell is the current frontrunner for the sporting director role – especially as he has family in Manchester – while ex-Liverpool duo Julian Ward and Michael Edwards could be targeted.

United have taken the lead against Wigan through Diogo Dalot.

The full-back curled in an exquisite finish from outside the box after being teed up by Marcus Rashford.

FA Cup fourth round draw

Manchester United will face League Two Newport or National League Eastleigh in the next round of the cup – if they overcome Wigan.

It is a kind draw for the Red Devils with rivals Manchester City facing a trip to Tottenham, while Chelsea take on Aston Villa.

Man Utd eye wonderkid

Manchester United are among several English sides who have sent representatives to watch 19-year-old Porto wonder Ussumane Djalo, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail report Djalo has a release clause of £8million in his contract with the Portuguese outfit, with Brighton and Southampton also named as suitors.

However, they also claim he could be sold for considerably less than that price tag, with a bidding war on the cards between the interested clubs.
