JADON SANCHO has revealed who his football idol is in an interview with Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old has re-joined the German giants on loan for the remainder of the season after being frozen out by Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
And after completing his move the England international gave fans an insight into one of his heroes growing up.
When asked about his new number for the club, ten, he explained that he wanted to wear it thanks to former Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho.
Speaking to the club on YouTube, he said: “It’s an iconic number. Growing up the number ten was always my favourite number due to Ronaldinho.
“Obviously me watching his YouTube clips. So you know, when Dortmund said ten was available I didn’t second guess.
“I just said ‘yes please if you could reserve it for me then that would be perfect’.”
The tricky winger is known for his skills and clearly take inspiration from Ronaldinho with the way he plays.
Sancho previously spent four seasons with Dortmund from 2017 to 2021 and donned the number seven shirt during his first spell at the club.
Seven is a number made iconic by a number of players, but is known by many as the shirt worn by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has worn number seven at almost every club he has played for and even picked it up during his second spell at Manchester United.
The Portuguese powerhouse choosing the number prevented Sancho from getting his hands on it at Old Trafford and with Marcus Rashford wearing the number ten, Sancho was forced to opt for 25.
