Despite not playing since September, Sancho, 23, only took 22 minutes before getting his first goal contribution for the club.

The assist provided Dortmund with their second goal of the game against Darmstadt.

Donyell Malen played a brilliant ball through to Sancho who showed his composure and squared it to Marco Reus to fire home.

Manchester United fans have been left fuming on social by the instant impact by Sancho.

Many supporters took aim at manager Erik ten Hag.

One posted: “Ten Hag was “holding Sancho back.”

A second wrote: “Ten hag in mud.”

A third fan commented: “Ten Hag was the problem.”

A fourth said: “Jadon Sancho assist in his first game back for Borussia Dortmund Manchester United may actually be cursed.”
