Hojlund then got an assist for United’s second, having played a one-two with Rashford before the England man found the far corner with his effort. Keane also called for Rashford to show more desire and improve his work ethic during games, but later admitted that Hojlund’s goal and assist was a positive response.
“It’s a brilliant strike,” Keane added on Hojlund’s goal. “Poor defending from Spurs. Great effort, good power behind it, it was a brilliant start from United. The idea of playing on the counterattack has been dangerous and they need to continue doing it – this (Rashford’s goal) is what we want to see from Marcus.
“He’s hungry, he’s got desire and that is a brilliant finish. You knew straight away he was at it in that first half, a little one-two, good strength, beautiful, sexy football.”
