Lionel Messi landed the Best FIFA Men’s Player award ahead of Manchester City star Erling Haaland on Monday evening. The 2022 World Cup winner ended his career in Europe in the summer after quitting Paris Saint-Germain to join MSL side Miami.

Messi netted nine Ligue 1 goals for PSG in 2023 before moving to the USA. And he has since found the back of the net 11 times in 14 appearances for Miami, although only one of those has come in the MLS.
