Chelsea outcast Trevoh Chalobah is being courted by local rivals Fulham, according to a report.

The versatile defensive player is yet to feature this season due to a long-term fitness issue and it appears as though he has already played his final game for Chelsea. For months, it has been reported that Chalobah will leave Stamford Bridge in January.

Indeed, already back in the summer, the Cobham graduate – one of three currently up for sale – was on the verge of leaving his boyhood club only for nothing to materialise before the transfer window slammed shut. Back then, Bayernwere on his tail and they recently reignited their interest, seeing him, intriguingly, as a potential right-back option, but their priority for that position right now is PSG’sNordi Mukiele.

Chalobah, who has mostly featured at centre-back and can also play in holding midfield, has also recently aroused the attention of West Ham and now another London-based side has reportedly entered the race to sign him.

Fulham keen

At least that’s according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Chelsea’s local rivals Fulhamhave registered an interest in the 24-year-old. The Cottagers are eyeing a six-month loan with an option to buy the defender in the summer.

Just how advanced talks are the journalist did not disclose, nor did he mention whether or not the rivalry between the two sides could prove a stumbling block for the boyhood Blue.

Chelsea beat Fulham 1-0 in the Premier League thanks to a Cole Palmer penalty mere days ago. Though the Cottagers are not in immediate danger of getting sucked into a relegation battle, their form has been patchy at best in recent times, losing to Burnley, Bournemouth and Newcastle but beating Arsenal.
