United on ‘right trajectory’ says Huddlestone

Manchester United U21 player-coach Tom Huddlestone has claimed that things are moving in the right direction for the Red Devils.

Despite sitting seventh in the league table and getting knocked out of both the Champions League and the League Cup, Huddlestone is positive about the club’s progress.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, he said: “I know the league position is not where the club want to be but I think things are on the right trajectory.”

Huddlestone pointed to the growing list of injuries at Old Trafford for one of the reasons behind the club’s poor form.

He added: “For stages of the season, Man United have not had their strongest back four from last season, [Mason] Mount and Casemiro have been missing, Antony was missing”.

“You’ve almost got six or seven players that realistically would be in the starting eleven. But that gets brushed under the carpet if the results aren’t going well.

“I think the lads seem to be buying into the manager’s ideas and patience is needed with a lot of managers and it will be interesting to see as and when he’s got a fully fit squad of his signings.”

Guirassy going nowhere

Serhou Guirassy is set to stay at Stuttgart despite a huge amount of interest from elsewhere.

The 27-year-old striker has been liked with a move to Old Trafford this month.

But according to Sky Germany, Guirassy has informed Stuttgart that he wants to stay put for the time being.

The star has bagged an incredible 17 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Fulham launch bid for United target

Fulham have reportedly launched a £30m bid for Fluminense midfielder Andre.

The Cottagers are preparing for life without Joao Palhinha with the star set to depart this summer.

And according to The Times, Marco Silva is keen to sign Andre in his place.

The 22-year-old midfielder is said to be open to moving to the London club.

Andre has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but Fulham’s interest could scupper the Red Devils’ chances of striking up a deal for the Brazilian.
