Wan-Bissaka has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit in recent months, with a return to Crystal Palace mooted amid Man Utd’s pursuit of France U21 star Michael Olise. He is also on West Ham United’s radar, as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers.

Several reports have indicated that Wan-Bissaka has been deemed surplus to requirements by Ten Hag and Dumfries has previously been linked as a possible replacement.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has been considered as an option, FootballTransfers has been told previously, while Paris Saint-Germain defender Nordi Mukiele was linked in 2023.

However, The Sun have reported that Man Utd have rejected Inter’s advances following an offer of a Dumfries and Wan-Bissaka swap deal.

Inter Milan-Man Utd swap deal on the cards?

Wan-Bissaka was due to become a free agent this summer, but Man Utd activated a one-year extension option in his current deal and he remains contracted to the club until 2025 as a result.

As for Dumfries, he remains a key member of Simone Inzaghi’s squad at San Siro and has made 18 appearances for Inter so far this season, scoring twice and providing four assists.

The Italian giants have added Canadian right-back Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge this month, although he is yet to make his debut for the club and is a versatile player capable of playing in multiple positions.

It remains to be seen if Inter will seek to offload Dumfries to another Premier League club, but Inter appear reluctant to retain the 27-year-old, despite his form over the past 18 months.

According to The Sun, the Netherlands international is involved in a contract stand-off as he wants £80,000-a-week, but Inter are only offering about £35,000-a-week. His current dea; is due to expire in 2025.
