Shearer urges Toney move

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has urged Arsenal to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford.

The Bees striker returned from his eight-month ban with a goal against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

And after retirning to the ggoals immediately, Shearer has urged the Gunners to splash the cash on him.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: “They [Arsenal] are only two points behind leaders Liverpool despite having a horrible run in the past month, but I still think they need a quality centre-forward to go to that next level, and go on and win the Premier League.

“I thought Brentford’s Ivan Toney could be the answer, with the wide players Arsenal have got and the service they would give him, but it doesn’t look like they are going to do any business for Toney this month, or make any other major forward signings before the window closes.

“They are not far away and I just think that, if they were to get someone in, it might make a big difference – but that seems unlikely for now.”

Neville blames Arsenal for PGMOL complaints

Gary Neville has pointed the finger at Arsenal and Liverpool for the growing number of complaints to the PGMOL.

Nottingham Forest have launched a complaint to the refereeing group after Ivan Toney scored a controversial free-kick against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

But former Man Utd star Neville thinks that the blame is with Arsenal and Liverpool after they began submitting complaints to the PGMOL earlier in the season.

On X, he wrote: “Clubs writing to the PGMOL is embarrassing! Liverpool and Arsenal started it and set the precedent of this nonsense.”
