Real Madrid could try to include a player in their deal to sign Alphonso Davies, according to German media.

Los Blancos continue to court the Bayern Munich star, who is out of contract in 2025. So far, there has been no progress in the contract talks between the Canadian and his German club, meaning that the Bavarians will be forced to cash in on him in the summer.

It was recently claimed that Real Madrid had specifically asked Davies to not agree to a new deal because that would have dashed the Spanish giants’ hopes of landing the 23-year-old. They are not ready to break the bank for a left-back.

Bayern, it has been asserted, would be willing to sell him for €50 million in the next transfer window. To sweeten the deal for the perennial Bundesliga champions, Real Madrid are said to be considering the possibility of offering up young centre-back Rafa Marin in return.

Marin to Bayern?

That’s at least according to BILD, which claims that Los Blancos are willing to sacrifice the 21-year-old in their bid to land Davies. The defender is yet to feature for Real Madrid’s senior side but has become a key player on loan at LaLiga outfit Alaves.

Bayern, the German outlet reports, will try to restart the contract talks with Davies in the near future, but they are not willing to grant his every wish. Should his wage demands, for example, be deemed unrealistic, the Bavarians will actively try to get rid of the Canadian in the summer.

Intriguingly, it was claimed last week that Bayern were plotting to swoop for Marin anyway as an act of ‘revenge’ in the event of Davies’ departure for Madrid. Now, it seems that Real Madrid are more than willing to sacrifice the academy product to land Davies.
