Roy Hodgson is reportedly set to remain in charge of Crystal Palace for Tuesday’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United but his position is under threat following a devastating 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal last time out.
According to the Guardian, Hodgson recently met with Palace chairman Steve Parish to discuss his job. Hodgson will have to turn the Eagles’ fortunes around over the next few weeks otherwise he is likely to be shown the door.
After the Sheffield game, Palace play Brighton away from home on February 3 before hosting Chelsea on February 12. The south Londoner’s response over the next three games will be crucial in deciding whether he will remain in his post.
Palace didn’t put up much of a fight on Saturday as they were steamrolled by Arsenal at the Emirates. The defeat raised further questions about whether Hodgson is the right man for the job with the Eagles now flying dangerously close to the drop zone in 15th.
