Manchester United have hired Omar Berrarda has he reportedly ‘ticks boxes like nobody else’.

Ineos are looking to overhaul the recruitment of the club, with several top executives thought to be primed for taking over at Old Trafford.

The Athletic reports that Berrada makes the perfect addition and that there are very few chief executives having his ‘level of football-related experience working on negotiations and operations.’

A source from Man City told the publication: He will be in the eye, having to make final decisions. When you are the CEO, or in a similar role, you can talk more freely because you know it won’t be you delivering the final decision. Because Man Utd are so in the spotlight and evidently need fixing, he has taken on a huge task.”

On Saturday, Man Utd announced the appointment of Berrada, marking one of the most significant steps Ineos have taken to revamp the club to date.

Who else will Man Utd hire?

Berrada’s rise in City and CFG highlights the big loss his departure means for the Premier League and European champions. Working closely with Txiki Begiristain, Berrada helped Man City bring about their most successful period.

The Reds are in the process of securing new hires for key positions, including a sporting director, head of recruitment, and technical chief scout.

Richard Arnold was replaced as the chief executive by Berrada, who comes from several years at Man City.

Recently it was reported that they removed Sam Barnett from his role as football negotiations manager. Barnett had been part of the club’s recruitment team since 2020, and there are indications that football director John Murtough may also face dismissal.

As FootballTransfers reported previously, Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United is to be the potential replacement for John Murtough, and Paul Mitchell is someone who could take up the sporting director position.
