Tottenham announce pre-match entertainment for Brentford clash as fans say ‘we’re genuinely so embarrassing’

TOTTENHAM fans have mocked their own club after they announced their pre-match entertainment for Wednesday night’s clash with Brentford.

Spurs confirmed on social media that a “mobile phone light show” will take place ahead of the Premier League game.

It read: “For the first time at @SpursStadium, we’re staging a mobile phone light show against Brentford on Wednesday evening — enabling supporters to play their part in adding to the atmosphere 🙌.

But some Tottenham supporters were not on board with the idea as they took to Twitter to react.

One person said: “We’re genuinely so embarrassing.”

Another added: “Cool. Could we maybe, not?”

A third replied: “I will be boycotting this by having an extra pre-game pint.”

While a fourth responded: “Has the Arsenal Twitter admin hacked the Spurs Twitter page?”

And a fifth said: “This is not who we are.”

Ange Postecoglou‘s men are looking to bounce back from being knocked out of the FA Cup on Friday following a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The loss means the club’s wait for a trophy will extend to at least 17 years.

But Tottenham have won four of their last six Premier League games and sit fifth in the table.

They are three points adrift of fourth-place Aston Villa and eight behind league leaders Liverpool.
