The Reds are set for another major summer overhaul, though this one won’t have to be because of an exodus of big-name players. Jurgen Klopp is departing the club at the end of the season, while sporting director Jorg Schmadtke will already leave the club after the January window.
There will be something of a revolution at Liverpoolin the summer and a new coach will likely want to have some new players at his disposal. Unsurprisingly, then, the Reds are planning for the next transfer window and several interesting players have been named as potential options.
Despite the midfield revamp in the previous summer, Liverpool are reportedly keen to add another man to the middle of the park and one of the players heavily linked in recent times is Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners of Atalanta.
However, Juventushave also been associated with the 25-year-old and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are already putting a plan in place to snap him up from their Serie A rivals. Matias Soule would be offloaded in the summer to fund a move for Koopmeiners, who is considered a key target in Turin.
Milan want Premier League centre-backs
Liverpool are also scouting the centre-back market given that Joel Matip is out of contract at the end of the season and Virgil van Dijk has hinted that he may not be part of the post-Klopp era, though he recently backtracked on his comments.
AC Milan, who have been keen to strengthen their defensive department for weeks, are interested in both for the summer, with a move for Tosin being deemed ‘likely’ by Calciomercato. Positive talks with his entourage have led to this conclusion, but Kelly has also been approached.
