He shimmied his chest in celebration after cancelling out Rasmus Hojlund’s opener for United.

However, the celebration would backfire as Scott McTominay’s 86th minute strike sealed a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

The result also sees Erik ten Hag’s side move to within five points of fifth placed Villa.

Following the match, Ferdinand took the opportunity to troll Luiz on social media.

Posting to X, he shared a picture of the celebration and wrote: “U ok @dgoficial.”

Ferdinand also attached a series of laughing emojis as he rubbed in the Villa defeat to Luiz.

It proved to be an eventful afternoon for the Brazilian, who clashed with Hojlund late on at Villa Park.

The pair were involved in a heated altercation during stoppage time after the United forward gestured to the crowd.
