Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle ‘all ready’ to offer contract to Premier League star | Football | Sport

Bournemouth star Lloyd Kelly is attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window. The defender is in the final six months of his deal with the Cherries and suitors are queuing up in the hope of securing his services when he becomes a free agent.

Kelly was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham throughout the summer transfer window, with AC Milan also hoping to lure him away from the Vitality Stadium. However, Bournemouth remained firm on their stance that the defender was not for sale.

Instead, the Cherries were keen for Kelly to remain with the squad and be a part of Andoni Iraola’s plans for the campaign, despite knowing that his contract extension talks were not showing any signs of progress.

Amid all the uncertainty over his future, Kelly has continued to put himself in the shop window with impressive displays for Bournemouth. The 25-year-old has played as a centre-back and also showcased his versatility with strong showings at left-back, and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

According to HITC, Kelly is not going to be short of offers when his contract expires with Bournemouth in July, with Premier League outfits and European sides all willing to draw up contract offers for the former Bristol City star.

Newcastle and Spurs have all registered an interest in signing Kelly as a free agent, with Liverpool also particularly keen given their desire to sign a left-sided centre-back in the summer – with Chelsea star Levi Colwill and Feyenoord’s David Hancko also said to be among their considerations.

Kelly is weighing all of his options up, with clubs abroad hoping that the prospect of playing football in Europe will prove persuasive in negotiations. AC Milan remain informed of his situation following their failed pursuit previously, though they face competition from Serie A rivals in the race to secure his signature.

Napoli, AS Roma and Juventus have also held talks with Kelly’s entourage to sound out their interest and learn more about his desires if he is to leave Bournemouth. However, the defender is yet to make any definite decision on his future and will be keen to wait until the Premier League season has concluded before making his decision and entering negotiations with any of his suitors.
