He was tipped for big things after once scoring 33 goals in a single season for Tottenham Under-18s.

Griffiths’ tally was almost twice as many as Harry Kane managed at the same level.

It led to the Premier League club offering him a professional deal – but he snubbed the contract.

Several European giants were interested with Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and RB Leipzig all wanting to snap up the wonderkid.

He ended up at Lyon in 2018 but only ever played for the club’s second side in Ligue 2.

Griffiths, 23, later returned to England but failed to impress in a short spell at Doncaster.

He went on loan to Yeovil before being released by Rovers after scoring just two goals in 27 professional appearances.

After finding himself out of the game the striker signed for Critics FC in the Essex Corinthian League.

But he has now returned to the professional level with National League Wealdstone.

The Stones are 18th in the table but just two points above the relegation zone after Dorking Wanderers thrashed league leaders Chesterfield 4-1 last weekend.
