Hojlund’s double against Luton in his last appearance stretched his scoring run to six consecutive Premier League games.

That broke a Prem record as he became the youngest player ever to achieve such a feat.

However, that hot-streak was curtailed when he picked up a knock which ruled him out for three weeks, although he is set to be back for United’s clash with Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Dane’s absence has further highlighted the need for reinforcements in attack for the Red Devils, who have been linked with a host of names over the past few months.

However, now a shock new player has been thrown into the mix.

According to, United have been scouting Dinamo Zagreb’s forward Bruno Petkovic and are eyeing a potential bargain swoop for him this summer.

The 29-year-old Croatian international is under contract at Dinamo until 2025, who will allegedly look to cash in on him to avoid losing the ace for nothing in 12 months.

And he could be available for as little as just £4.28m.

This update claims that no contact between the two clubs has yet been made, although Dinamo are aware of United scouts being in attendance recently to watch the forward.

Petkovic moved to Dinamo in 2019 after a spell at Bologna and Hellas Verona in Italy.

Who could be Man Utd’s next manager after Ten Hag?

He has scored 45 times in 137 appearances in the top-flight since and has nine goals and three assists this term domestically.

However, he has also impressed in the Europa League and is the competition’s second top scorer with a tally of seven.

And he also shone at the World Cup in 2022 as he found the net against Brazil in the quarter final.

Petkovic has scored 10 goals in 34 caps for his country.
