Club Bruges celebrated the 19th title in its history this Sunday after drawing against Cercle Bruges at the Jan Breydel Stadium. At the final whistle, thousands of Blauw&Zwart supporters rushed onto the pitch.
Faced with this crowd, Cercle goalkeeper Warleson quickly felt he needed to retreat to the dressing rooms. But the Brazilian was quickly caught up by the mass and violently attacked by a “supporter” of Club Bruges.
The individual physically assaulted the goalkeeper, tackling him from behind. Warleson collapsed on the pitch before quickly getting up to avoid being trampled by the swarm of supporters flooding onto the field. Fortunately, the goalkeeper apparently did not suffer any injuries.
