OFFICIAL: Club Brugge extends Brandon Mechele’s contract

Club Brugge recently won their 19th Belgian league title. The Blauw en Zwart will have a big job to do this summer.

Things are going to get busy behind the scenes at Club Brugge this summer. Crowned Belgian champions, the Bruges club will have to deal with a number of issues.

First, the coach’s position. Will they keep Nicky Hayen, who has brilliantly taken over the team after Ronny Deila’s departure?

Second, the squad. Many players are likely to leave the club during this transfer window. To replace them, Club Brugge has already activated several leads.

Brandon Mechele extends his contract at Club Brugge

However, the team will need to rely on some pillars for the future. It is with this in mind that Club Brugge has extended Brandon Mechele’s contract. He is now linked to the Club until 2027 – the previous contract ran until 2025.

A pure product of Club Brugge’s training academy, Mechele has played 434 matches for the Blauw en Zwart. He has won 6 Belgian league titles, making him the record holder at the Club with Hans Vanaken.
