Pro League: Gent beat Genk to win the last European ticket (0-1)

With their fifth place, the Limburgers have secured their participation in the play-offs against Gent, who easily won the Europe Playoffs. This one-off match, Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s last with Gent, was played at the Cegeka Arena.

At the end of an animated but very balanced first half, the two teams went into the break with a score of 0-0.

In the second half, Gent were superior to the Limburgers. On the hour mark, a magnificent strike from Hjulsager left Maarten Vandevoordt completely helpless. The Gent player had plenty of time to advance and send the ball into the top corner.

The Limburgers were stunned and were never able to get back into the game, coming up against a very effective Gent defense.

So it is Gent who win the last European ticket. The Buffalos will go through the qualifiers to qualify for the Conference League.
