The Zbirna will play three friendly matches before the kick-off of the Euros. Romania and Slovakia have two friendly matches on the programme.

For several months now, the date of Monday 17 June has been circled in red in the diaries of the Red Devils and their opponents. The Euros are slowly approaching. And the traditional period of preparation matches is already starting for the qualified nations. Ukraine, who Belgium will face on Wednesday 26 June in Stuttgart in the last group match, is one of the first teams to take to the field, along with England, Croatia and Scotland. This Monday evening, the Zbirna will have a tough task ahead of them as they challenge… Germany, the host country of the Euros, in Nuremberg. Serhiy Rebrov’s team will then follow up with two other friendly matches: against Poland (on Friday 7 June) and Moldova (on Tuesday 11 June).

Slovakia and Romania, on the other hand, have opted for two rather than three friendly matches. Like Belgium, in the end. The Slovak Falcons will start with a weak opposition against San Marino (Wednesday 5 June) before facing Wales (Sunday 9 June), also qualified for the Euros.

The Tricolours, one of the underdogs of the continental tournament, have clearly preferred to choose more affordable, less prestigious opponents. Perhaps to start the Euros full of confidence? We’ll see… In any case, they will first face Bulgaria (Tuesday 4 June) and then… Liechtenstein (Friday 7 June).
