Dennis Praet will no longer be a Leicester City player at the end of the season. The Premier League club has announced the news on its website. The Belgian’s contract is expiring and will not be renewed.
The former RSC Anderlecht player will therefore leave the Foxes after five seasons. He arrived in the summer of 2019 from Sampdoria for a fee of around €19 million. He was then loaned to Torino for the 2021-2022 season.
Trained at OH Leuven, Dennis Praet then joined Genk’s youth academy in 2003 before moving to Anderlecht’s U19s seven years later. Promoted to the first team in 2011, he left the Parc Astrid for Sampdoria in 2016.
Praet, a Belgian international 15 times and winner of the Golden Shoe in 2014, has made 107 appearances for Leicester City, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He also lifted the Community Shield and the FA Cup in 2021 before being crowned English second division champions in 2024.
In its statement, Leicester also announced the extension of striker Jamie Vardy’s contract until June 2025, as well as the departures of club legend Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho.
