Arthur Vermeeren is one of the 25 players selected by Domenico Tedesco to represent Belgium at the Euros. The young midfielder will be looking to make his mark on the tournament.
Arthur Vermeeren has had a rather special season. After impressing at Antwerp, the young midfielder secured a winter move to a European top club.
Vermeeren signed for Atlético Madrid for a fee of €18 million (excluding bonuses). The Belgian was hoping to break into the Madrid squad quickly.

Arthur Vermeeren reflects on his move to Atlético Madrid
Unfortunately, coach Diego Simeone has barely used him: just 5 appearances. The question therefore arises, although it is undoubtedly premature: should he not go elsewhere in search of playing time, even on loan?
At a press conference, Vermeeren reflected on his transfer. “Diego Simeone said he still has faith in me. If I work hard in training, everything will be fine. I’m 19.”
“This is a club I really want to play for, because of the passion that goes on here and the fans. I’m going to work hard, and if that’s not enough, I’m going to work even harder. I want to play for this club,” Vermeeren continued.
