Training has resumed at Club Brugge, where Nicky Hayen has immediately predicted a new flurry of transfer activity. In the meantime, Brugge has already announced one departure.
As announced last week, Josef Bursik will be loaned to FC Hibernian. The club has now confirmed via its official channels that the reserve goalkeeper will be loaned to the Scottish Premiership club for one season.
Bursik Leaves Brugge
Bursik was signed a year and a half ago to replace Simon Mignolet, but he suffered a serious knee injury last summer. For the time being, he is still waiting to make his debut with the first team, where Nordin Jackers has overtaken him in the pecking order.
After a long rehabilitation, the 23-year-old Englishman, who has already played five matches for Club NXT and is under contract with Jan Breydel until mid-2027, will therefore look elsewhere for more playing time. It remains to be seen when and if he will return.
The Club is Looking for a Goalkeeper(?)
It is also curious to know whether Club will still be on the lookout for new blood between the sticks. After the departure of Senne Lammens last summer, Nick Shinton also seems to be on his way out. Unless Kiany Vroman and Axl De Corte get a chance?
