Standard Liege have been very active in recent days. In addition to Marko Bulat, Bosko Sutalo is expected to strengthen the squad for next season.
As we reported yesterday, Marko Bulat is not the only Croatian player being pursued by Standard Liege. Negotiations are also underway with his Dinamo Zagreb teammate, defender Bosko Sutalo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, these negotiations are taking the same path as the talks in the Bulat case: an agreement is in sight.
While Marko Bulat is arriving on loan (with an option to buy), Sutalo should sign permanently: an agreement between the two clubs and the player for a five-year contract is almost complete.
Sutalo to bolster Standard’s defence
Bosko Sutalo (not to be confused with Croatian international Josip Sutalo, who plays for Ajax) still had three years left on his contract in Zagreb. However, the 24-year-old defender has lost his starting place and is therefore looking to relaunch his career.
At Standard Liege, Sutalo will have to replace the departures of Zinho Vanheusden, Kostas Laifis and Merveille Bokadi. He will also need to rediscover the form that convinced Atalanta to spend €4m to sign him in 2020. He failed to make an impact at Bergamo, which led to him being loaned to Hellas Verona and then sold back to Dinamo.
