Standard Liege won 5-0 at Aubel this evening. A good way to start this pre-season which promises to be eventful.
A few days after the resumption of training, Standard Liege outlined the renewal for the next season: new shirt, (a few) new faces, the Reds fans gathered in Aubel for this first preparation match.
Faced with the home team, playing in P1, Ivan Leko started with the following line-up: Epolo, Dierckx, Hautekiet, Calut, Fossey, Lawrence, Mateta, Ghalidi, Kawabe, Ziani & Benjdida.
It took half an hour for Hayao Kawabe to open the scoring from a Ziani assist. Standard Liege were off and running: ten minutes later, the visitors doubled their lead thanks to Henri Lawrence, set up by Marlon Fossey. Three minutes later, it was Ziani who made the score 3-0, before Kawabe scored a penalty to make it 4-0 just before half-time.
A taste of SL 16 in the second half As usual, there were many changes at half-time. Standard Liege restarted with this line-up: Godfroid, Olivier, Cissé, Da Silva, Dodeigne, N’Salambi, Sy, Kuavita, Assengue, Tapsoba & Benjdida.
A very young team that scored the 5-0 goal at the beginning of the second half through Soufiane Benjdida, who had already provided an assist in the first half. This was also to be the final score of the match. Ivan Leko was therefore able to carry out many tests,
