Moussa Djenepo increasingly likely to leave Standard Liege

Moussa Djenepo had a disastrous season at Standard Liege. The Malian winger is highly likely to be loaned out.

Standard Liege thought they had pulled off a coup last summer when they brought Djenepo back for €3.5 million.

However, the former Southampton winger was very disappointing, often making the wrong choices and almost never managing to find his previous form.

With Standard Liege in the midst of a major squad overhaul this summer, Djenepo is one of the players who could leave.

As reported by the Turkish press, Konyaspor recently made contact to try to negotiate a loan deal for the player.

Sudinfo now explains that the SuperLig team has negotiated a paid loan with an option to buy. Discussions are still ongoing. Djenepo has yet to give his approval.

Turkish journalist Salim Manav has revealed that Djenepo will indeed be loaned out, with Konyaspor taking over the majority of his salary. An agreement in principle is said to have been reached.
