Romelu Lukaku is not having any luck at this European Championship. The Red Devils striker has already found the back of the net three times, but each of these goals has been disallowed.
Lukaku is known for not being very public facing. This attitude sometimes contrasts with his role as a leader on the pitch with the national team.
Invited by Sporza, the former press officer of RSC Anderlecht David Steegen gave some explanations.
“Romelu is a seasoned player. It may sound a bit harsh, but he no longer needs the media to improve. But not because he sees the media as an enemy.”
“Romelu is someone who does everything to achieve his goals. Including throwing all the ballast overboard. I am convinced that he does not want to waste his energy on interviews and sees it as a burden. He prefers to spend his time on extra training or rest.”
