Sporting Charleroi began their pre-season preparations with a friendly match at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi on Saturday. It was a comfortable victory for the Zebras.
Sporting Charleroi faced RAEC Mons in a friendly match at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi on Saturday and easily won (0-3) against an opponent who are still officially on holiday. The Zebras, for their part, were starting their pre-season preparations and Rik De Mil was able to experiment with a few things.
Several players made their debuts for Charleroi, including Théo Defourny, Mardochée Nzita and, in the second half, the young Noam Mayoka-Tika. Rik De Mil fielded two completely different lineups in the first and second halves.
It was also a special match because of the name of the Mons coach: Dante Brogno, of course. But the Mons team, who have been promoted to Nationale 1 (now D1 ACFF), were not in the same state of preparation as their opponents as they are on holiday and will return on July 17th.
The goals for Charleroi were scored by Adem Zorgane and Nikola Stulic (x2).
