Parma set to splash out €10m on Pro League goalkeeper, successor arrives from Benfica

The musical chairs of goalkeepers have begun in the Pro League. For Saint-Trond, the sale of Zion Suzuki could bring in a big profit.

When Zion Suzuki chose Saint-Trond to take his first steps in Europe last summer, the whole of Stayen rubbed their hands together. It must be said that the Japanese goalkeeper was coveted by Manchester United but first wanted to secure an intermediate step, where he could benefit from some playing time.

In January, the Canaries did not hesitate to activate his purchase option, thus paying €4 million to Urawa Reds, his former club.

STVV could already make a significant return on their investment. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Parma are in talks to make him their new goalkeeper for their promotion to Serie A. Saint-Trond should earn up to €10 million from this.

Saint-Trond continues to gamble on Japanese prospects

His successor has already been found. According to our information, the Trudonnaires have identified one of his compatriots to succeed him between the posts.

It is Leo Kokubo, a 23-year-old goalkeeper who plays for Benfica Lisbon. Kokubo arrived in Lisbon at the age of 18 to continue his training. Integrated into the first team squad last summer, he sat on the bench twice but has nevertheless continued to defend the goals of the U23 team.

In April, he distinguished himself at the U23 Asian Cup with the Japanese hopefuls, who won the competition.
