Despite an existing agreement between Standard and Konyaspor, Moussa Djenepo does not want to join the Turkish league. Maccabi Tel Aviv could be the solution.
After a disappointing season with Standard Liège, Moussa Djenepo is expected to leave the Meuse this summer.
Signed for 3.5 million euros last summer, the Malian has never managed to regain the level he had during his first spell at Sclessin.
Both physically and in his choices, the left winger has often seemed out of place, despite a few flashes that all too rarely reminded us of the player Djenepo was before his departure for England.
Moussa Djenepo finally to Maccabi Tel Aviv?
This summer, Standard had therefore decided to part ways with the 26-year-old player, who had attracted interest from Konyaspor, a Turkish first division club. An agreement was even said to be in the pipeline between the parties.
However, our information reveals that Moussa Djenepo has no intention of joining Turkey and Konyaspor. The Bamako-born player, unconvinced by this destination, is looking for another solution.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the solution could be Maccabi Tel Aviv, who are close to agreeing personal terms with Djenepo. Despite the existing agreement between Matricule 16 and the Turkish club, Djenepo is therefore putting everything back in question.
