Union close to securing a windfall for Mohamed Amoura!

Mohamed Amoura is ever closer to joining Wolfsburg. The Algerian is set to discover the Bundesliga.

Like Victor Boniface before him, Mohamed Amoura will have only needed one season at Union Saint-Gilloise to put Europe at his feet. Despite a more difficult final sprint, his 22-goal season quickly made him a highly sought-after target.

For the past few weeks, Wolfsburg has emerged as one of the most concrete candidates. The Wolves are now very close to signing him.

According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, the deal is almost done, with only a few details left to be ironed out. The Kicker newspaper adds that Amoura is set to sign a contract until 2029 and should bring in 17 million euros for Union.

A Fennec among the Wolves

This would make him the second most expensive outgoing transfer in Union history behind Victor Boniface (21.7 million) but well ahead of Casper Nielsen (7.5 million).

If the deal is finalized quickly, Mohamed Amoura could play his first game in his new colours…at Anderlecht, in the friendly match between the Mauves and Wolfsburg.
