Islamdine Halifa will play for RWDM next season. He arrives on loan from Lyon.
The movement between RWDM and Lyon continues. A day after the purchase option for Ernest Nuamah (who didn’t play a single second for Molenbeek) was exercised for €28.5 million, it’s the Gones’ turn to send a player to the Stade Machtens.
RWDM have indeed officialised the arrival of Islamdine Halifa. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder, who Lyon scouted from Nîmes three years ago and who played for the reserve team last season, joins on loan without an option to buy.
John Textor’s connections continue
Despite this, Halifa signed his first professional contract last summer and has made four appearances for the France U20 team, thanks in particular to his run with Lyon in the prestigious Coupe Gambardella.
Six months ago, he was in the starting line-up for the Bleuets against the Belgian U20s, who included Mathias Delorge, Pierre Dwomoh, Matte Smets and Norman Bassette.
Islamdine Halifa will be tasked with helping RWDM bounce back in D1B.
