Mohamed Amoura has signed for Wolfsburg. The Algerian therefore leaves Duden Park after one season.
From his first steps at the Stade Marien, Mohamed Amoura took opposing defences by storm and impressed the Pro League with his spontaneity in front of goal.
It quickly became apparent that the Algerian international would not be staying long in Brussels, just like his predecessor Victor Boniface. Like the Nigerian, Amoura has left Union after a year to head for the Bundesliga.
Wolfsburg were the most convincing in their pursuit of Amoura. The VFL have signed Amoura on loan, with an almost obligatory purchase option given the conditions negotiated.
This option is set at €17 million. An amount that will exceed €20 million with various bonuses. A nice capital gain for the Unionists, who had only paid €4 million to Lugano last summer.
22 goals in 45 appearances for Union
“I am proud and happy to be able to play in the future for such a great club in Germany. I have always had in mind to take the next steps in my career in the Bundesliga. That is why VfL Wolfsburg is the ideal partner for me,” said the Wolves’ latest recruit.
Sebastian Schindzielorz, the VfL sporting director, shares his enthusiasm: “He fits our profile perfectly, has tremendous speed and goal threat and can be used flexibly in attack. We are convinced that he will bring a lot of joy to VfL and the Bundesliga as a whole.” Not sure the German defenders will agree.
