The transfer window at Standard de Liège is in full swing this summer. After the departure of key players like Laifis, Bokadi, Djenepo, Balikwisha, and more recently Kawabe, the club could lose another player.
Sacha Bansé, a 23-year-old central midfielder, could leave the club, despite showing promising performances during his loan spell at Valenciennes last season. Having come on as a substitute in the first two league games, the Burkinabe is attracting interest. Greuther Fürth, a Bundesliga 2 club, have expressed a strong interest in Bansé, but several of their offers have been rejected by Standard.
In parallel, the club is also looking to offload some players, such as Abdoul Fessal Tapsoba, who doesn’t seem to be part of the team’s future plans after his loan spell at Amiens where he saw little playing time. The need to trim the squad is crucial to allow for the arrival of new talent, particularly a striker, which is a priority for the Liège management.
Coach Ivan Leko, after a victory against Bruges, underlined the importance of strengthening the team to maintain competitiveness throughout the season. Significant changes to the squad are therefore expected before the transfer window closes on September 7th.
