Fresh from a victory over Gent, FC Dender have announced the signing of a new striker this week.
FC Dender pulled off a shock on the second matchday, defeating Gent at the Ghelamco Arena thanks to goals from Soladio and Berte.
Not only did the newly promoted side secure three points but they’ve also boosted morale with the signing of a new striker. “FC Dender is proud to announce that Aurélien Scheidler has joined our club,” reads a club statement.
FC Dender sign a new striker
The 26-year-old striker is joining on loan from Italian Serie B side Bari until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
A powerful French striker, standing at 1.92m, he has previously played for FC Andorra, Dijon, AS Nancy, and US Orléans. “He has already scored 21 goals in Ligue 2, five in Liga 2, three in Serie B, and one in Ligue 1. At his young age, he brings a lot of experience to the Dender Football Complex,” the club added.
Dender will play their next match at home on Saturday against Kortrijk. This could already be a crucial game as a win would put the newly promoted side four points clear of the Kerels. And in a relegation battle, every point counts.
