Gent FC has experienced numerous departures during this summer transfer window and could now lose Pieter Gerkens.
Gent FC is undergoing a major rebuild. The club has seen many key players leave, including Tarik Tissoudali, Paul Nardi, Jorthy Mokio, Laurent Depoitre, and Julien De Sart.
The Buffalos might also lose Pieter Gerkens before the transfer window closes. The Gent FC management would not be opposed to a departure this summer.
As Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri explains, Belgian clubs are interested in signing the former RSC Anderlecht player.
KV Kortrijk and KVC Westerlo are reportedly among the interested clubs, as both are keen to avoid another relegation battle. They have made enquiries about Gerkens’ availability.
Gerkens has seen his importance diminish at Gent FC, although he was quite influential during the play-offs last season. He is under contract with Gent FC until 2027 and is valued at €1.5 million by Transfermarkt.
