Amadou Diawara is still at Anderlecht. The club wants to get rid of him, but it’s anything but straightforward.
Amadou Diawara’s situation is one of the complex issues facing RSC Anderlecht. The 27-year-old Guinean defensive midfielder doesn’t fit into Brian Riemer’s plans.
The best example to illustrate this is his playing time since the start of the 2024-2025 season: it’s zero.
Amadou Diawara, a former player of Napoli, AS Roma, and Bologna, continues to attract interest in Italy. As the Italian press explained, he was approached by Empoli.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht had discussed with Aris Thessaloniki to agree on a loan deal.
However, Diawara reportedly didn’t see it that way and rejected the offer. The Guinean is keen to play in Italy again. There has been no contact with Empoli yet.
