Genk agree to sell: He’s off for £8 million!

Carlos Cuesta looks set to be the next player to leave KRC Genk. The centre-back is the subject of concrete interest from Torino, a Serie A club. A transfer seems to be progressing smoothly.

Torino are expected to make an offer to Genk this weekend. Genk are grateful to Cuesta for what he has achieved over the past five seasons. The player is eager to join Serie A. Genk will not demand a huge fee for the defender.

They would accept a transfer fee of €8 million, including bonuses. Genk will then have to pay a portion of this sum to Nacional. The latter had negotiated a sell-on clause when Genk signed him for €3.8 million in 2019.

If Cuesta leaves, it seems the Limburgers will need another centre-back. He is, after all, an important player who is leaving.
