Union Saint-Gilloise’s transfer window isn’t closed yet. This was evident on Monday with the departure of Cameron Puertas to Al Qadsiah.
But while significant departures continue, there should also be arrivals. A striker is reportedly in the sights of the Brussels management, although he isn’t expected to arrive immediately.
A Striker on the Horizon
Aged 20, Franjo Ivanovic currently plays for Rijeka, a club that is counting on him for the return leg of the Conference League qualifier against Olimpija Ljubljana. Once that match is over, he could then join the Belgian capital.
To secure his services, Union would have to pay €4 million. A sum that would be largely compensated by the money that has already come into the coffers.
While Ivanovic’s arrival could suggest the departure of Dennis Eckert and/or Elton Kabangu, Noah Sadiki’s departure is unlikely to happen. Lyon has indeed made a €6 million offer, but it has been rejected as the management wants to keep him for one more season before considering a departure.
