RWDM, after a season spent battling relegation and being relegated to the Challenger Pro League just a year after returning to the top flight, are now aiming for a top spot in the second division.
However, even though the Molenbeek-based club is no longer playing at the highest level, there isn’t room for everyone in the squad. The decision has therefore been made to take advantage of the transfer window opening in the Netherlands and send a surplus player there.
Surplus Player
Matteo Vandendaele, whose preferred position is on the left side of defence, has been sent to FC Eindhoven on Monday. A Dutch second division club that should allow him to gain experience.
Loaned until the end of the season, Vandendaele, who is under contract with RWDM until 2026, will try to get the playing time he wants before returning to Belgium.
Currently fifth in the standings after four league games, FC Eindhoven are coming off a season in which they finished fourteenth and are therefore looking to do better.
Bonne chance, Matteo ! 🍀
